WOMEN TO WATCH UK: A BOOK ARTS REVOLUTION
Francisca Prieto has been nominated for ‘Women to Watch’, the intenational programme
organised by the National Museum of Women in the Arts (NMWA), Washington DC.
Curator Welmoet Wartena and the UK Friends of the NMWA nominated five UK artists
to form the shortlist. Focused on contemporary book art, the shortlist is presented in the
UK exhibition at Christie’s London.

Women to Watch is a collaboration between the museum and its national and international outreach committees. Held every two to three years, the programme highlights emerging and underrepresented women artists. Each edition focuses on a specific theme or medium chosen by NMWA curators, with shortlists developed regionally in consultation with contemporary curators.
