‘WOMAN #17’ AT ROYAL SOCIETY OF SCULPTORS

Members & Fellows Summer Show
17 July to 21 September 2025, London

The Royal Society of Sculptors’ Summer Show features work by members and fellows of the Society. Francisca Prieto’s Woman #17 has been selected for the 2025 edition, curated by Polly Bielecka.

Presented at Burgh House, an eighteenth century Queen Anne style house in Hampstead, this year’s theme, Sculpture in the Home, is inspired by the postwar Arts Council exhibitions exploring sculpture within domestic spaces.

Woman #17 forms part of Prieto’s ongoing Denied series, which reflects on the silenced narratives of women and the historical barriers imposed by patriarchal constraints. Using carefully collected objects suspended within metal frameworks, the series embodies both quiet resistance and the struggle to break free.
