The Reflection triptych celebrates Graneros, an area of agricultural land that lies at the feet of Cordillera de la Costa and overlooking Cordillera de Los Andes in Chile. To the artist, Graneros is a place to reflect, a landscape of contemplation and inspiration. As vistas shift when travelling through a landscape, so does each view through this triptych, as space grows and shrinks within each frame. Bright copper metal, rippling with apertures and shadows, conjures the intense Chilean light of the mountains; the deep pink, coppery sunrise and sunset that bathe the dramatic lines of the Andes. Green lettering evokes the lush green foliage of surrounding forests and agriculture, and the rose the rich fertile earth. The rhythm of nature plays across the triptych’s framed patterns, shifting to create open spaces for discovery and rebirth, and closed planes for pondering and reflection. Together the three frames are calming, exuding a warmth that mirrors the transformative effect contemplating our earth’s rich and natural landscape can bring.
